Classes Offered
Below are the regular classes Bayside Kyokushin Karate offers year-round. Speak with an instructor to determine which class is the best fit for you or your child. In addition, we hold a number of seminars, self-defense programs and bootcamps throughout the year. Join us for a free class to see if our classes are for you!
Children 5-8
Shorter class targeted towards younger children to enable them to build self confidence, balance and coordination. Fundamental karate skills are taught in a fun and friendly environment as children develop a good habit of regular training. Class runs for 45 minutes.
Adults Advanced
Full Kyokushin Karate training class featuring basics, combinations, kata, self-defence, kumite, stamina, strength training and weapons training for senior students. Class runs for 90 minutes.
Children 8-12
Class for older children to develop improved strength, stamina and physical ability. Discipline and respect are a major component of these classes and transfers over into their everyday lives. Students are encouraged and supported to prepare and compete local tournaments. Class runs for 50 minutes.
Casual Class
Saturday morning class for children and adults wanting to get that little extra bit of training in a class tailored to those attending. Ideal if you are preparing for tournaments or gradings and great for working on stamina and fitness. Dress code is gi pants and casual sports top. Class runs for 90 minutes.
Adults Beginner
Class for 13+ year olds new to martial arts and advanced children. Focused on developing basic karate techniques, self-defence, kata, kumite and establishing a good level of fitness before progressing on to the Advanced class. Class runs for 60 minutes.
